Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen is a beautiful town, established
and isolated in the Mountains following the
Spainsh Inquisition. It was "rediscovered"
in the late 1800's when people were surprised
to discover that the inhabitants
were still speaking ancient Castillian.

Now, most people in Chefchaouen speak Arabic.
However, the influence of Spanish colonialism is still
present. The older inhabitants still speak a little Spanish.

As is evident form the photos, the town is hidden
away in the mountains, and all the buildings are painted
blue and white. From a distance, it sparkles. A shining
white city in the mountains.

Another interesting tidbit from the region is that
the people are extremely camerashy. To catch people
in photos you had to be sneaky, and fast.

The goats didn't care too
much about cameras,
they were too busy
climbing trees to get to the
tasty branches.
