The desert dunes of Merzouga, where Laurence of
Arabia was filmed.

The dunes were beautiful and serene, the perfect
place to get away from the madness of
Rissani for a few days.

While staying in our desert lodgings, we met
several people who made their way
to the desert and decided to stay for
quite a while. One man made it
his goal to delve into the depths of the dunes
and pick up trash. I thank him for his efforts as
we were able to witness the results.

Every once in a while, there is a few palms that
sprout out of the desert wasteland, encouraged by
underground water sources, I guess.

I am assuming that this is what the caravans used
to look like way back when... this is only a tourist
caravan into the desert, but who could have
guessed?
